§ 122C-287. Disposition.

§122C‑287.  Disposition.

The court may make one of thefollowing dispositions:

(1)        If the court findsby clear, cogent, and convincing evidence that the respondent is a substanceabuser and is dangerous to himself or others, it shall order for a period notin excess of 180 days commitment to and treatment by an area authority orphysician who is responsible for the management and supervision of therespondent's commitment and treatment.

(2)        If the court findsthat the respondent does not meet the commitment criteria set out insubdivision (1) of this subsection, the respondent shall be discharged and thefacility in which he was last treated so notified.
