§126‑28.  Penalty for examining, copying, etc., confidential file withoutauthority.

Any person, not specificallyauthorized by G.S. 126‑24 to have access to a personnel file designatedas confidential by this Article, who shall knowingly and willfully examine inits official filing place, remove or copy any portion of a confidentialpersonnel file shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor and upon convictionshall only be fined in the discretion of the court but not in excess of fivehundred dollars ($500.00).
