§ 127A‑45.1.  NorthCarolina National Guard Governor's Unit Citation.

There is hereby created theNorth Carolina National Guard Governor's Unit Citation which shall be astreamer, a unit emblem, and a certificate, all of appropriate design asapproved by the Governor or his designated representative. The Governor or hisdesignated representative is authorized to present such unit citation, uponrecommendation of the Adjutant General, subject to the approval of theSecretary, to any unit of North Carolina National Guard distinguishing itselfby extraordinary heroism or meritorious service while in a State active dutystatus. The unit must display such gallantry, determination, and esprit decorps in accomplishing its mission under conditions which set it apart andabove other units.  (1977,c. 229, s. 1; 2009‑281, s. 1.)
