§128‑37.  Membership of employees of district health departments or publichealth authorities.

Under such rules andregulations as the Board of Trustees shall establish and promulgate, the boardsof county commissioners of any group of counties composing a district healthdepartment, or the governing board of any public health authority, or the boardof county commissioners of any county as to county boards of health, or thegoverning authorities of any county and/or city as to city‑county boardsof health, may elect that employees of such health departments may be membersof the North Carolina Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System to theextent of that part of their compensation paid by the various countiescomposing said district health department.
