§ 130A‑127.  Departmentto establish program.

(a)        The Departmentshall establish and administer a perinatal health care program. The program mayinclude, but shall not be limited to:

(1)        Prenatal health careservices including health education and identification of high‑riskpregnancies;

(2)        Prenatal, deliveryand newborn health care services provided at hospitals participating atgraduated levels of complexity; and

(3)        Regionalizedperinatal health care services including a plan for effective communication,consultation, referral and transportation links among hospitals, healthdepartments, physicians, schools and other relevant community resources formothers and infants at high risk for mortality and morbidity.

(b)        The Commissionshall adopt rules necessary to implement the program. (1973,c. 1240, s. 1; 1983, c. 891, s. 2.)
