§ 130A‑220.  Departmentto establish program.

(a)        The Departmentshall establish and administer a program for the detection and prevention ofchronic renal disease and the care and treatment of persons with chronic renaldisease. The program may include:

(1)        Development ofservices for the prevention of chronic renal disease;

(2)        Development andexpansion of services for the care and treatment of persons with chronic renaldisease, including techniques which will have a lifesaving effect in the careand treatment of those persons;

(3)        Provision offinancial assistance on the basis of need for diagnosis and treatment ofpersons with chronic renal disease;

(4)        Equipping dialysisand transplantation centers; and

(5)        Development of aneducation program for physicians, hospitals, local health departments and thepublic concerning chronic renal disease.
