§ 130A‑412.18.  Sale orpurchase of body parts prohibited.

(a)        Except as otherwiseprovided in subsection (b) of this section, a person, that for valuableconsideration, knowingly purchases or sells a body part for transplantation ortherapy if removal of a body part from an individual is intended to occur afterthe individual's death commits a Class H felony and upon conviction may befined up to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for each offense.

(b)        A person may chargea reasonable amount for the removal, processing, preservation, quality control,storage, transportation, implantation, or disposal of a body part. (2007‑538, s. 1.)
