§ 130A‑45.  Title andpurpose.

(a)        This Part shall beknown and may be cited as the "Public Health Authorities Act".

(b)        The purpose of thisPart is to provide an alternative method for counties to provide public healthservices. This Part shall not be regarded as repealing any powers now existingunder any other law, either general, special, or local.

(c)        It is the policy ofthe General Assembly that Public Health Authorities should have adequateauthority to exercise the powers, rights, duties, functions, privileges, andimmunities conferred upon them by law. (1997‑502, s. 1.)
