§130A‑60. Consideration of reports and adoption of a plan.
(a) A report filed bythe engineers pursuant to G.S. 130A‑59 shall be given consideration bythe sanitary district board and the board shall adopt a plan. Before adopting aplan the board may hold a public hearing for the purpose of consideringobjections to the plan. Once adopted, the sanitary district board shall submitthe plan to the Department. The plan shall not become effective until it isapproved by the Department.
(b) The provisions of thissection and of G.S. 130A‑58 shall apply when the sanitary district boarddetermines that adoption of the plan requires the issuance of bonds. However,these provisions shall not apply to a proposed purchase of firefightingequipment and apparatus. Failure to observe or comply with these provisionsshall not, however, affect the validity of the bonds of a sanitary district.
