§ 131E‑98. Inmatemedical records.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a hospital does not breachpatient confidentiality by providing the Department of Correction with themedical records of inmates who receive medical treatment at the hospital whilein the custody of the Department. A hospital complying with a request from theDepartment of Correction or its agent for a copy of the medical records of aninmate who received medical services while in custody shall be immune fromliability in any civil action for the release of the inmate's medical record.
