§ 132-5. Demanding custody.

§ 132‑5.  Demandingcustody.

Whoever is entitled to thecustody of public records shall demand them from any person having illegalpossession of them, who shall forthwith deliver the same to him.  If the personwho unlawfully possesses public records shall without just cause refuse orneglect for 10 days after a request made in writing by any citizen of the Stateto deliver such records to their lawful custodian, he shall be guilty of aClass 1 misdemeanor.
