§ 143‑140.1.  Appeals ofalternative design construction and methods.

Alternative designs andconstruction shall follow the State Building Code. In the event of a disputebetween a local authority having jurisdiction and the designer or owner‑representativeregarding alternative designs and construction, and notwithstanding any othersection within this Article, appeals by the designer or owner‑representativeon matters pertaining to alternative design construction or methods shall beheard by the Department of Insurance Engineering Division. The Department ofInsurance Engineering Division shall issue its decision regarding an appealfiled under this section within 10 business days. The Commissioner of Insuranceshall adopt rules in furtherance of this section. (2007‑507, s. 18.)
