§ 143‑215.65. Reports required.
All persons subject to the provisions of G.S. 143‑215.1, 143‑215.108,or 143‑215.109 who discharge wastes to the waters or emit aircontaminants to the outdoor atmosphere of this State shall file at suchfrequencies as the Commission may specify and at least quarterly reports withthe Commission setting forth the volume and characteristics of wastesdischarged or air contaminants emitted daily or such other period of time asmay be specified by the Commission in its rules. Such reports may be requiredless frequently than quarterly for any permit for a minor activity as definedin G.S. 143‑215.1(b)(4)d. and e. Such reports shall be filed on formsprovided by the Department and approved by the Commission and shall includesuch pertinent data with reference to the total and average volume of wastes orair contaminants discharged, the strength and amount of each waste substance orair contaminant discharged, the type and degree of treatment such wastes or aircontaminants received prior to discharge and such other information as may bespecified by the Commission in its rules. The information shall be used by theCommission only for the purpose of air and water pollution control. TheDepartment shall provide proper and adequate facilities and procedures and theCommission shall adopt rules to safeguard the confidentiality of proprietarymanufacturing processes except that confidentiality shall not extend to wastesdischarged or air contaminants emitted.
