§ 143‑261.  Appointment and membership; duties.

The Governor of North Carolina is hereby authorized to appoint acommission to be known as the State Education Commission, consisting of 18members, six of whom shall be selected from educational groups within theState, and 12 of whom shall be selected from the agricultural, business,industrial, and professional life of the State. It shall be the duty of thisCommission to study all educational problems to the end that a sound overalleducational program may be developed in North Carolina, and to report theirfindings and make recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly of1949.
