§ 143‑283.2. Purpose of Article; cooperation with President's Committee.

The purpose of this Article is to carry on a continuing program topromote the employment of the physically, mentally, emotionally, and otherwisehandicapped citizens of North Carolina by creating statewide interest in therehabilitation and employment of the handicapped, and by obtaining andmaintaining cooperation with all public and private groups and individuals inthis field. The Governor's Council shall work in close cooperation with thePresident's Committee on Employment of the Physically Handicapped to moreeffectively carry out the purpose of this Article, and with State and federalagencies having responsibilities for employment and rehabilitation of thehandicapped.
