§ 143-411. Powers of Department of Cultural Resources.

§ 143‑411.  Powersof Department of Cultural Resources.

The Department of Cultural Resources is hereby empowered on behalf ofthe State of North Carolina to receive gifts, contributions of money andobjects of art consistent with the purpose for which the Department is created.Title to all gifts, articles and moneys received by the Department shall bevested in the State of North Carolina and shall remain in the custody andcontrol of the Department. The Department is authorized to accept loans offurniture  and other objects as, in its discretion, it deems suitable. TheDepartment is empowered to employ clerical assistance on such basis as it maydeem reasonable. Provided, however, that the salary of such person shall bepaid out of funds the Department has received in the conduct of its work, andit is specifically provided that no other funds belonging to the State of NorthCarolina shall be used for this purpose.
