§ 143B‑417.  NorthCarolina Internship Council – creation; powers and duties.

There is hereby created theNorth Carolina Internship Council of the Department of Administration. TheNorth Carolina Internship Council shall have the following functions andduties:

(1)        To determine thenumber of student interns to be allocated to each of the following offices ordepartments:

a.         Office of theGovernor

b.         Department ofAdministration

c.         Department ofCorrection

d.         Department ofCultural Resources

e.         Department ofRevenue

f.          Department ofTransportation

g.         Department ofEnvironment and Natural Resources

h.         Department ofCommerce

i.          Department of CrimeControl and Public Safety

j.          Department ofHealth and Human Services

k.         Office of theLieutenant Governor

l.          Office of theSecretary of State

m.        Office of the StateAuditor

n.         Office of the StateTreasurer

o.         Department of PublicInstruction

p.         Repealed by SessionLaws 1985, c. 757, s. 162.

q.         Department ofAgriculture and Consumer Services

r.          Department of Labor

s.          Department ofInsurance

t.          Office of theSpeaker of the House of Representatives

u.         Justices of theSupreme Court and Judges of the Court of Appeals

x.         Office of the SenatePresident Pro Tempore

(2)        To screenapplications for student internships and select from these applications therecipients of student internships; and

(3)        To determine theappropriateness of proposals for projects for student interns submitted by theoffices and departments enumerated in subdivision (1) of this section.
