§ 143B-518. Authority to assist private nonprofit foundations.

§ 143B‑518. Authority to assist private nonprofit foundations.

The Department may provide appropriate services or allow employees ofthe Department to assist any private nonprofit foundation that works directlywith the Department's services or programs and whose sole purpose is to supportthese services and programs. A Department employee shall be allowed to workwith a foundation no more than 20 hours in any one month. These services arenot subject to Chapter 150B of the General Statutes.

The board of directors of each private, nonprofit foundation shallsecure and pay for the services of the Department of State Auditor or employ acertified public accountant to conduct an annual audit of the financialaccounts of the foundation. The board of directors shall transmit to theDepartment a copy of the annual financial audit report of the private nonprofitfoundation. (1998‑202, s.1(b); 2000‑137, s. 1(b).)
