§ 143B‑527. Compensation to juveniles in care.

A juvenile who has been committed to the Department may be compensatedfor work or participation in training programs at rates approved by theSecretary within available funds. The Secretary may provide for a reasonableallowance to the juvenile for incidental personal expenses, and any balance ofthe juvenile's earnings remaining at the time the juvenile is released shall bepaid to the juvenile or the juvenile's parent or guardian. The Department mayaccept grants or funds from any source to compensate juveniles under thissection. (1998‑202, s.1(b); 2000‑137, s. 1(b).)
