§147‑30. To provide new seals when necessary.
Whenever the great seal of theState shall be lost or so worn or defaced as to render it unfit for use, theGovernor shall provide a new one and when such new one is provided the formerone, if it can be found, shall be destroyed in the presence of the Governor.Whenever the seal of any department of the State shall be lost or so worn ordefaced as to render it unfit for use, a new seal shall be provided by the headof the department and the former one, if it can be found, shall be destroyed inthe presence of the head of the department. Whenever the seal of any court ofrecord shall be lost or so worn or defaced as to render it unfit for use, theboard of county commissioners of the county in which such court is situateshall provide a new one and the old one, if it can be found, shall be destroyedin the presence of the chairman of the board of county commissioners of suchcounty.
