§148‑18.1.  Confiscation of unauthorized articles.

Any item of personal propertywhich a prisoner in any correctional facility is prohibited from possessing byState law or which is not authorized by rules adopted by the Secretary ofCorrection shall, when found in the possession of a prisoner, be confiscatedand destroyed or otherwise disposed of as the Secretary may direct. Anyunauthorized funds confiscated under this section or funds from the sale ofconfiscated property shall be deposited to Inmate Welfare Fund maintained bythe Department of Correction.
