§ 157‑38. Ruralhousing projects.
Housing authorities created for counties and regional housingauthorities are specifically empowered and authorized to borrow money, acceptgrants and exercise their other powers to provide housing for farmers of lowincome. In connection with such projects, such housing authorities may enterinto such lease or purchase agreements, accept such conveyances and rent orsell dwellings forming part of such projects to or for farmers of low income,as such housing authority deems necessary in order to assure the achievement ofthe objectives of this Article. Such leases, agreements or conveyances mayinclude such covenants as the housing authority deems appropriate regardingsuch dwellings and the tracts of land described in any such instrument, whichcovenants shall be deemed to run with the land where the housing authoritydeems it necessary and the parties to such instrument so stipulate. Nothingcontained in this section shall be construed as limiting any other powers of anyhousing authority. (1941, c. 78, s.4.)
