Joint Municipal Assistance Agencies.

§ 159B‑42.  Joint municipal assistance agencies.

The purpose of this Article is to authorize joint agencies ormunicipalities to form one or more joint municipal assistance agencies whichshall be empowered to provide aid and assistance to municipalities in theconstruction, ownership, maintenance, expansion and operation of their electricsystems, to do such other acts and things as hereinafter provided and to carryout the powers and responsibilities hereinafter granted in this Chapter. Itshall also be the purpose of a joint municipal assistance agency to provide aidand assistance to any joint agency in the exercise of its respective powers andfunctions. The term "provide aid and assistance" shall be liberallyconstrued. (1983, c. 609, s.7; 1995, c. 412, s. 21.)
