§ 15A-738. Forfeiture of bail.

§15A‑738.  Forfeiture of bail.

If the prisoner is admitted tobail and fails to appear and surrender himself according to the conditions ofhis bond, the judge, or magistrate by proper order, shall declare the bondforfeited and order his immediate arrest without warrant if he be within thisState. Recovery may be had on such bond in the name of the State as in the caseof other bonds given by the accused in criminal proceedings within this State. (1937,c. 273, s. 18; 1973, c. 1286, s. 16.)
