§ 160A-188. Bird sanctuaries.

§ 160A‑188.  Birdsanctuaries.

A city may by ordinance create and establish a bird sanctuary withinthe city limits. The ordinance may not protect any birds classed as a pestunder Article 22A of Chapter 113 of the General Statutes and the StructuralPest Control Act of North Carolina of 1955 or the North Carolina Pesticide Lawof 1971. When a bird sanctuary has been established, it shall be unlawful forany person to hunt, kill, trap, or otherwise take any protected birds withinthe city limits except pursuant to a permit issued by the North CarolinaWildlife Resources Commission under G.S. 113‑274(c) (1a) or under anyother license or permit of the Wildlife Resources Commission specifically madevalid for use in taking birds within city limits.
