§ 160A-308. Regulation of dune buggies.

§ 160A‑308. Regulation of dune buggies.

A municipality may by ordinance regulate, restrict and prohibit the useof dune or beach buggies, jeeps, motorcycles, cars, trucks, or any other formof power‑driven vehicle specified by the governing body of the municipalityon the foreshore, beach strand and the barrier dune system.  Violation of anyordinance adopted by the governing body of a municipality pursuant to thissection is a Class 3 misdemeanor.

Provided, a municipality shall not prohibit the use of such specifiedvehicles from the foreshore, beach strand and barrier dune system by commercialfishermen for commercial activities.  Commercial fishermen, however, shallabide by all other regulations or restrictions duly enacted by municipalitiesunder this section.
