§ 160A-644. Effect on existing franchises and operations.

§ 160A‑644.  Effecton existing franchises and operations.

Creation of the Authority shall not have an effect on any existingfranchises granted by any unit of local government; such existing franchisesshall continue in full force and effect until legally terminated; further, allordinances and resolutions of the unit of local government regulating localpublic transportation systems, bus operations, and taxicabs shall continue infull force and effect now and in the future, unless superseded by regulationsof the Authority; such superseding, if any, may occur only on the basis ofprior mutual agreement between the Authority and the respective unit of localgovernment.
