§ 162A‑76. Watersystem acting as billing and collecting agent for district; furnishing meterreadings.
The owner or operator, including any political subdivision, of a watersystem supplying water to the owners, lessees or tenants of real property whichis or will be served by any sewerage system owned or operated by a district isauthorized to act as the billing and collecting agent of the district for anyrents, rates, fees or charges imposed by the district for the services andfacilities provided by such sewerage system, and such district is authorized toarrange with such owner or operator to act as the billing and collecting agentof the district for such purpose. Any such owner or operator shall, ifrequested by a district, furnish to the district copies of such regularperiodic meter reading and water consumption records and other pertinent dataas the district may require to do its own billing and collecting. The districtshall pay to such owner or operator the reasonable additional expenses incurredby such owner or operator in rendering such services to the district.
