§ 163‑97.1. Votersaffiliated with expired political party.
The State Board of Electionsshall be authorized to promulgate appropriate procedures to order the countyboards of elections to change the registration affiliation of all voters whoare recorded on the voter registration books as being affiliated with apolitical party which has lost its legal status as provided in G.S. 163‑97.The State Board of Elections shall not implement the authority contained inthis section earlier than 90 days following the certification of the electionin which the political party failed to continue its legal status as provided inG.S. 163‑97. All voters affiliated with such expired political partyshall be changed to "unaffiliated designation" by the State Board'sorder and all such registrants shall be entitled to declare a political partyaffiliation as provided in G.S. 163‑82.17.
