§ 17D-2. Academy established; duties.
§17D‑2. Academy established; duties.
(a) The North CarolinaDepartment of Justice shall establish a North Carolina Justice Academy.
(b) The Department ofJustice shall employ the staff of the academy and direct its operations.
(c) Duties of theacademy. The North Carolina Justice Academy shall have, but is not limited to,the following functions:
(1) It may providetraining programs for criminal justice personnel.
(2) It may providetechnical assistance upon request to criminal justice agencies to aid them inthe discharge of their responsibilities.
(3) It may develop,publish, and distribute educational and training materials.
(4) It may take suchother actions as may be deemed necessary or appropriate to carry out itsassigned duties and responsibilities. (1973, c. 749; 1979, c. 763,s. 2.)
