§ 20‑183.4B. Application for license; duration of license; renewal of mechanic license.
(a) Application. Anapplicant for a license issued under this Part must complete an applicationform provided by the Division. The application must contain the applicant'sname and address and any other information needed by the Division to determinewhether the applicant is qualified for the license. The Division must review anapplication for a license to determine if the applicant qualifies for thelicense. If the applicant meets the qualifications, the Division must issue thelicense. If the applicant does not meet the qualifications, the Division mustdeny the application and notify the applicant in writing of the reason for thedenial.
(b) Duration ofLicense. A safety inspection mechanic license expires four years after thedate it is issued. An emissions mechanic inspection license expires two yearsafter the date it is issued. A safety inspection station license, an emissionsinspection station license, and a self‑inspector license are effectiveuntil surrendered by the license holder or suspended or revoked by theDivision.
(c) Renewal of MechanicLicense. A safety or an emissions inspection mechanic may apply to renew alicense by filing an application with the Division on a form provided by theDivision. To renew an emissions inspection mechanic license, an applicant musthave successfully completed a four‑hour emissions refresher courseapproved by the Division within nine months of applying for renewal. Successfulcompletion requires a passing score on a written test and on a hands‑ontest in which the student is required to conduct an emissions inspection of amotor vehicle. (1993 (Reg.
