§ 20‑297.  Retention andinspection of certain records.

(a)        Vehicles. – Adealer must keep a record of all vehicles received by the dealer and allvehicles sold by the dealer. The records must contain the information that theDivision requires. A dealer may keep and maintain records at the dealershipfacility where the vehicles were sold or at another established office locatedwithin this State provided that the location and the name of a designatedcontact agent are provided to the Division and the records can be madeavailable for inspection by the Division within a reasonable period of timeafter being requested by the Division.

(b)        Inspection. – TheDivision may inspect the pertinent books, records, letters, and contracts of alicensee relating to any written complaint made to the Division against thelicensee. (1955,c. 1243, s. 13; 1975, c. 716, s. 5; 1995, c. 163, s. 5; 2007‑481, s. 3.)
