Appointment of Guardianfor a Minor.

§ 35A‑1220.  Absence ofnatural guardian.

When a minor either has nonatural guardian or has been abandoned, and the minor requires services fromthe county department of social services, the social services director in thecounty in which the minor resides or is domiciled shall be the guardian of theperson of the minor until the appointment of a general guardian or guardian ofthe person for the minor under this Subchapter or the entry of an order by acourt of competent jurisdiction awarding custody of the minor or appointing ageneral guardian or guardian of the person for the minor. (1987,c. 550, s.1.)
