§ 47-43. Form of certificate of acknowledgment of instrument executed by attorney-in-fact. - North Carolina Statutes

§47‑43.  Form of certificate of acknowledgment of instrument executed byattorney‑in‑fact.

When an instrument purports tobe signed by parties acting through another by virtue of the execution of apower of attorney, the following form of certificate shall be deemedsufficient, but shall not exclude other forms which would be deemed sufficientin law:

North Carolina,__________________ County.

I (here give name of theofficial and his official title), do hereby certify that (here give name ofattorney‑in‑fact), attorney‑in‑fact for (here givenames of parties who executed the instrument through attorney‑in‑fact),personally appeared before me this day, and being by me duly sworn, says thathe executed the foregoing and annexed instrument for and in behalf of (heregive names of parties who executed the instrument through attorney‑in‑fact),and that his authority to execute and acknowledge said instrument is containedin an instrument duly executed, acknowledged, and recorded in the office of(here insert name of official in whose office power of attorney is recorded,and the county and state of recordation), on the (day of month, month, and yearof recordation), and that this instrument was executed under and by virtue ofthe authority given by said instrument granting him power of attorney; that thesaid (here give name of attorney‑in‑fact) acknowledged the dueexecution of the foregoing and annexed instrument for the purposes thereinexpressed for and in behalf of the said (here give names of parties who executedthe instrument through attorney‑in‑fact).
