§50A‑205.  Notice; opportunity to be heard; joinder.

(a)        Before a child‑custodydetermination is made under this Article, notice and an opportunity to be heardin accordance with the standards of G.S. 50A‑108 must be given to allpersons entitled to notice under the law of this State as in child‑custodyproceedings between residents of this State, any parent whose parental rightshave not been previously terminated, and any person having physical custody ofthe child.

(b)        This Article doesnot govern the enforceability of a child‑custody determination madewithout notice or an opportunity to be heard.

(c)        The obligation tojoin a party and the right to intervene as a party in a child‑custodyproceeding under this Article are governed by the law of this State as in child‑custodyproceedings between residents of this State. (1979, c. 110, s. 1; 1999‑223,s. 3.)
