§ 52C‑3‑313. Limited immunity of petitioner.

(a)        Participation by apetitioner in a proceeding before a responding tribunal, whether in person, byprivate attorney, or through services provided by the support enforcementagency, does not confer personal jurisdiction over the petitioner in anotherproceeding.

(b)        A petitioner is notamenable to service of civil process while physically present in this State toparticipate in a proceeding under this Chapter.

(c)        The immunitygranted by this section does not extend to civil litigation based on actsunrelated to a proceeding under this Chapter committed by a party while presentin this State to participate in the proceeding. (1995, c. 538, s. 7(c).)
