§ 53-183. Advertising, broadcasting, etc., false or misleading statements.

§53‑183.  Advertising, broadcasting, etc., false or misleading statements.

No licensee subject to thisArticle shall advertise, display, distribute, telecast, or broadcast or causeor permit to be advertised, displayed, distributed, telecasted, or broadcasted,in any manner whatsoever, any false, misleading, or deceptive statement orrepresentation with regard to the rates, terms, or conditions of loans. TheCommissioner may require that charges or rates of charge, if stated by alicensee, be stated fully and clearly in such manner as he may deem necessaryto prevent misunderstanding thereof by prospective borrowers. The Commissionermay permit or require licensees to refer in their advertising to the fact thattheir business is under State supervision, subject to conditions imposed by himto prevent an erroneous impression as to the scope or degree of protectionprovided by this Article.
