§54B‑134. New account books.
A new account book orcertificate or other evidence of ownership of a withdrawable account may beissued in the name of the holder of record at any time when requested by suchholder or his legal representative upon proof satisfactory to the associationthat the original account book or certificate has been lost or destroyed. Suchnew account book or certificate shall expressly state that it is issued in lieuof the one lost or destroyed and that the association shall in no way be liablethereafter on account of the original book or certificate. The association mayin its bylaws require indemnification against any loss that might result fromthe issuance of the new account book or certified certificate. (1981,c. 282, s. 3.)
