§ 58-84-46. Certification to Commissioner. - North Carolina Statutes

§ 58‑84‑46. Certification to Commissioner.

On or before October 31 ofeach year the clerk or finance officer of each city or county that has a localboard of trustees under G.S. 58‑84‑30 shall file a certificate ofeligibility with the Commissioner. The certificate shall contain informationprescribed by administrative rule adopted by the Commissioner. If thecertificate is not filed with the Commissioner on or before January 31 in theensuing year:

(1)        The city or countythat failed to file the certificate shall forfeit the payment next due to bepaid to its board of trustees.

(2)        The Commissionershall pay over that amount to the treasurer of the North Carolina StateFiremen's Association.

(3)        That amount shallconstitute a part of the  Firefighters' Relief Fund. (2000‑67, s. 26.21(b);2001‑421, s. 3; 2007‑246, s. 6.)
