§ 7A‑347. Assistants for administrative and victim and witness services.

Assistant for administrative and victim and witness services positionsare established under the district attorneys' offices. Each prosecutorialdistrict is allocated at least one assistant for administrative and victim andwitness services to be employed by the district attorney. The AdministrativeOffice of the Courts shall allocate additional assistants to prosecutorialdistricts on the basis of need and within available appropriations. Eachdistrict attorney may also use any volunteer or other personnel to assist theassistant. The assistant is responsible for coordinating efforts of the law‑enforcementand judicial systems to assure that each victim and witness is provided fair treatmentunder Article 45 of Chapter 15A, Fair Treatment for Victims and Witnesses andshall also provide administrative and legal support to the district attorney'soffice.
