§ 7A-68. Administrative assistants.

§ 7A‑68. Administrative assistants.

(a)        Each district attorney shall be entitled to oneadministrative assistant to be appointed by the district attorney and to serveat his pleasure. The assistant need not be an attorney licensed to practice lawin the State of North Carolina.

(b)        It shall be the duty of the administrative assistant toassist  the district attorney in preparing cases for trial and in expeditingthe criminal court docket, and to assist in such other duties as may beassigned by the district attorney.

(c)        When traveling on official business, each administrativeassistant is entitled to reimbursement for his subsistence and travel expensesto the same extent as State employees generally. (1973, c. 807.)
