§8‑29.  Copies of wills in Secretary of State's office.

Copies of wills filed orrecorded in the office of the Secretary of State, attested by the Secretary,may be given in evidence in any court, and shall be taken as sufficient proofof the devise of real estate, and are declared good and effectual to pass theestate therein devised: Provided, that no such will may be given in evidence inany court nor taken as sufficient proof of the devise unless a certificate ofprobate appear thereon.
