§8‑31. Copy of will proved and lost before recorded.
When any will which has beenproved and ordered to be recorded was destroyed during the war between thestates, before it was recorded, a copy of such will, so entitled to be admittedto record, though not certified by any officer, shall, when the court shall besatisfied of the genuineness thereof, be ordered to be recorded, and shall bereceived in evidence whenever the original or duly certified exemplificationwould be; and such copies may be proved and admitted to record under the samerules, regulations and restrictions as are prescribed in Chapter 98 entitledBurnt and Lost Records.
