§ 90‑21.47. Statute of limitations.

An action for sexual exploitation must be commenced within three yearsafter the cause of action accrues. A cause of action for sexual exploitationaccrues at the later of either:

(1)        The last act of the psychotherapist giving rise to the causeof action.

(2)        At the time the client discovers or reasonably shoulddiscover that the sexual exploitation occurred; however, no cause of actionshall be commenced more than 10 years from the last act of the psychotherapistgiving rise to the cause of action. (1998‑213, s. 1.)
