§ 90‑9.1. Requirementsfor licensure as a physician under this Article.
(a) Except as providedin G.S. 90‑9.2, to be eligible for licensure as a physician under thisArticle, an applicant shall submit proof satisfactory to the Board that theapplicant:
(1) Has passed each partof an examination described in G.S. 90‑10.1;
(2) Is a graduate of:
a. A medical collegeapproved by the Liaison Commission on Medical Education, the Committee for theAccreditation of Canadian Medical Schools, or an osteopathic college approvedby the American Osteopathic Association and has successfully completed one yearof training in a medical education program approved by the Board aftergraduation from medical school; or
b. A medical collegeapproved by the Liaison Commission on Medical Education, the Committee for theAccreditation of Canadian Medical Schools, or an osteopathic college approvedby the American Osteopathic Association, is a dentist licensed to practicedentistry under Article 2 of Chapter 90 of the General Statutes, and has beencertified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after havingcompleted a residency in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency programapproved by the Board before completion of medical school; and
(3) Is of good moralcharacter.
(b) No license may begranted to any applicant who graduated from a medical or osteopathic collegethat has been disapproved by the Board pursuant to rules adopted by the Board.
(c) The Board may, byrule, require an applicant to comply with other requirements or submitadditional information the Board deems appropriate. (2007‑346, s. 9.)
