§ 90A‑35.  Purpose.

It is the purpose of thisArticle to protect the public health and to conserve and protect the quality ofthe water resources of the State and maintain the quality of receiving watersas assigned by the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission; toprotect the public investment in water pollution control systems; to providefor the classification of water pollution control systems; to require theexamination of water pollution control system operators and the certificationof their competency to supervise the operation of such systems; and to establishprocedures for such classification and certification.
