§ 95‑110.1.  Short titleand legislative purpose.

 (a) This Article shall beknown as the Elevator Safety Act of North Carolina.

 (b) The General Assemblyfinds that the use of unsafe and defective lifting devices imposes asubstantial probability of serious and preventable injury to employees and thepublic exposed to unsafe conditions and that prevention of these injuries andprotection of employees and the public from unsafe conditions is in the best interestsand welfare of the people of the State.
