§95‑229.12. Application.
Nothing in this Article shallrelieve any person from complying with any safety rule, regulation, or statutenot imposed by this Article. A violation of this Article shall not constitutenegligence or contributory negligence, nor give rise to any cause of actionbased upon injury to persons or property. An action may be brought by an owneror operator of a high‑voltage line to recover the cost of precautionarysafety arrangements or for damage to its facilities. Nothing contained in thisArticle shall be construed to alter, amend, restrict, or limit the liability ofany person for violation of that person's duty under law; nor shall any personbe relieved from liability as a result of violations of standards underexisting law where such violations of existing standards of care are found tobe a cause of damage to property, personal injury, or death.
