§97‑89. Commission may appoint qualified physician to make necessaryexaminations; expenses; fees.
The Commission or any memberthereof may, upon the application of either party, or upon its own motion,appoint a disinterested and duly qualified physician or surgeon to make anynecessary medical examination of the employee, and to testify in respectthereto. Said physician or surgeon shall be allowed traveling expenses and areasonable fee to be fixed by the Commission. The fees and expenses of such physicianor surgeon shall be paid by the employer.
