2501.17 Compensation of clerks and employees.

Each officer and employee of a court of appeals appointed under section 2501.16 of the Revised Code shall receive the compensation that is fixed by the court of appeals and payable from the state treasury upon the certificate of the presiding or administrative judge of the district in which the officer or employee serves. The additional amount of compensation that the clerk of the court of common pleas receives for acting as the clerk of the court of appeals in his county and assuming the duties of that office and that is equal to one-eighth of the annual compensation that he receives pursuant to sections 325.08 and 325.18 of the Revised Code for being the clerk of the court of common pleas is payable from the state treasury upon the certificate of the presiding or administrative judge of the district in which the clerk serves.

Shorthand reporters may receive additional compensation for transcripts of evidence, the fee for the transcripts to be fixed by the judges of the court of appeals and paid and collected in the same manner as the fees for transcripts furnished by official shorthand reporters of the court of common pleas under section 2301.24 of the Revised Code. Shorthand reporters appointed for a term of less than one year shall receive a per diem compensation of not less than thirty dollars per day. All shorthand reporters shall receive their actual expenses for traveling when attending court in any county other than that in which they reside, to be paid as provided by section 2301.24 of the Revised Code.
